Integrity Army

When someone tells us their plans, we should believe them.

Reporting from Copenhagen at the Democracy Summit, where leaders from across the free world are gathered to talk about the state of democracy.

On Sunday Donald Trump announced he is deploying an “Election Integrity Army” in every state for the midterms. “Much bigger and stronger” he says than a similar 2024 effort.

The social media post follows an announcement by Senate Democrats that they are forming an election protection task force. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer brought in Eric Holder and Marc Elias whose job is to identify voter suppression and election interference before November.

Trump’s response was to smear Schumer, Holder, and Elias and announce an army in every state.

This comes on the heels of an executive order putting DHS and the Postal Service in charge of who gets a mail ballot, the US Supreme Court gutting the Voting Rights Act in Callais, and the Virginia Supreme Court striking down the voters’ approval of a redistricting effort on Friday.

And now an army.
