Election “Fraud” Monitors

Come November, we may have arrived at that place.

On Monday, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon announced the Justice Department will send approximately one thousand election monitors into polling places for the November midterms.

She said the department is selecting jurisdictions where it believes voter fraud exists, promising “prosecutions in the pipeline” and claiming that cooperating states show “hundreds of thousands of dead people” on their voter rolls. She did not name any states nor did she provide evidence to back it up.

The Justice Department has been suing states to obtain full state voter files, including Social Security numbers. Federal courts have ruled on twenty-three cases where states have sued to stop it, and the department has lost in all of them. Dhillon now says the Supreme Court may be the next stop.

Where might this lead? The Constitution makes each chamber of Congress the judge of its own members’ elections. Official findings of so-called “fraud” can hand the House majority grounds to refuse to seat winning candidates in January.

Scholars say that in competitive autocracies, they still hold elections – but the outcomes are protected.
