For a time, Gregory Bovino was the public face of Donald Trump’s deportations, with prominent appearances in immigration raids in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Minneapolis.
After federal agents killed American citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis during the crackdown he commanded, Bovino was forced out.
Last Saturday on May 30, Bovino appeared in Portugal as the special guest of something called the Remigration Summit. Remigration is a code word among the global far right for the mass expulsion of non-white people from Europe and America.
Five hundred gathered at the summit, organized by Martin Sellner, the Austrian who built his name on the “great replacement”. Bovino joined the American white nationalist Jared Taylor, a German AfD lawmaker, a Spanish Vox official, and a Belgian convicted of Holocaust denial.
From that stage, his message was that Trump had gone soft, that the deportations did not go far enough.
The former face of mass deportation was the guest of honor at a summit of fascists.
